GUIDE
Nicole (Nola) Blackwood is the founder of Disegno, an art consulting and appraisal firm based in Savannah. She is an art historian, designer, and museum professional with more than fifteen-years of experience in the international art world.
She received her MA and PhD from London’s Courtauld Institute of Art, specializing in the study of European art and architecture; chiefly the pre-industrial crafts of painting, printmaking, and drawing.
She has spent over a decade teaching and looking closely at art of all sorts in some of the most important collections and galleries across the globe – intimately working with art conservators, curators, collectors, and artists.
Since moving to Savannah, she has focused her studies on the city's urban landscape and its unique botanical history – from the first experimental garden in America to the travels of Mark Catesby and William Bartram.
Having lived or worked in over twelve countries, she continues to travel widely in search of authentic and meaningful experiences, along with beautiful, rare antiques. She’d love to be your guide to unlocking all that makes Savannah her favorite place to live.
